BWARS has not yet produced an account for this species. We anticipate completing the process of producing accounts for all British and Irish species by around 2014. Meanwhile, on this page you can find at least a provisional distribution map, any images BWARS has procured for the species and a list of known synonyms (names previously applied to this species). The work of mapping aculeate Hymenoptera, plus describing their life histories, is the major activity that BWARS undertakes. Should you have an interest in recording and studying aculeates, you may like to consider joining BWARS and supporting our activities, by making records of species in areas you visit. To complete species accounts, BWARS runs provisional maps and profiles in its newsletters. This is accompanied by a call for records to supplement any already held by the society. The account and map is revised according to any new data that is received. This is then published in an atlas, which contains fifty - sixty species accounts. Copies of the atlases are available from BWARS. If we have no images for this species, and you can contribute some, please do contact BWARS.
There are old records from Dorset, Isle of Wight, Surrey and East Kent. The species has recently bee n recorded from South Essex. This species has been recorded from many parts of Europe, including Scandinavia, and from Israel.
Despite the shortage of records, this species is not listed in the Red Data Book (Shirt, 1987) because its true distribution is incompletely known.
