If a part of the taxonomic hierarchy has been inadvertantly moved to the wrong place in the taxonomy (probably due to an incorrect import), then reimporting a single species from the incorrect branch should correct it as long as the imported species has the correct family & subfamily information and is imported into the correct content type (ants, bees or wasps). You can also do this manually. From the menu, select Content management > Taxonomy > List. Click the list terms link for the Taxonomic Hierarchy vocabulary. To make small changes to the hierarchy you can drag the terms around using the + icon to the left of each term and drop them under new parents. However, as this list is paginated it may not always be possible to drag terms between pages. So, find the child term that is in the wrong place, then click the edit link to go to the term edit page. Now, expand the Advanced options section at the bottom of the page. The Parents section will display as a list of drop down terms for each taxonomic level. Find the first one which is incorrect and correct it, then work down the terms to set the correct parent for this term and save the page when ready.
If there are spelling mistakes in the taxonomy then you can use the same method to go to the term edit page and correct the term there, then save it.
