Throughout England, Wales and Scotland. Also recorded from Ireland (O’Connor et al., 2009).
It occurs in Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Mongolia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland. Also known from Russia, Morocco and Korea.
No status is available, but probably not threatened.
Found in a wide range of habitats including bog, calcareous grassland, canal margins, coastal shingle, dry acid grassland, fen, lowland heathland, parkland, saltmarsh, sand dunes, wet meadows, woodland and heathland. This species can usually be found by sweeping grasses, very rarely off trees.
Mainly found during June and July, rarely during May and August.
