Winter Bumblebees - Analysis of data gathered during Winter 2009 (as at 20 December 2009)

A scatter graph showing the ratios of queens:workers on each day from which BWARS has received records. It is interesting to note the date after which workers became more abundant than queens. It will also be interesting to see what effects  the cold weather before Christmas has on worker numbers.
Figure 2
A pie chart showing the numbers of records received that are associated with visitation to particular plant species. The most popular plant visited by far is Mahonia and this is a rich source of both nectar and pollen at this time of year.
